The Watson Fellowship Garden is now in full bloom o BOOM! and so begins the days of harvesting fresh vegetables for the CT Food Bank. The first run of produce to W.H.E.A.T of West Haven happened this week and yielded approximately 50 pounds of squash, various root vegetables, beans, and greens. To understand how that feeds people, we can break it down to 4 pounds of food lends to roughly 3.5 meals. This one trip will provide 43.75 meals. Forty-Three meals in one day could change everything for so many people. The seventy gardeners in the Watson Gardens can change lives with just minor tending and a watering can. Unstoppable Watson, our growing season is just beginning. See how you can participate and help feed the hungry in Connecticut visit www.ctfoodbank.org and ask about their grow a row program.
