Melatonin

Overview

Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland in the brain.  It is used for adjusting the body’s internal clock, coping with jet lag, and assisting blind individuals with day and night cycles.


Function

Melatonin is involved with sleep, body cycles, awareness of time and date, and the physiological effects of temperature, cognitive, hormone, cardiovascular, and hormone symptoms.
